Over the last few days we went up to the Thai-Burmese border to deliver donations to the clinic & the refugee camps in Mae La. Our last visit was in December and we gathered lots of clothing donations, food and medication for the clinic in the last two months. Our rental truck was pretty stuffed, thanks to everyone who donated!

Mae La Camp refugees hungry for cornflakes!

We spent some time with the refugee kids in a small orphanage school of our friend Ming Ne Chit who is a teacher in the Mae La Camp. Most of the kids in the refugee camps along the border only have one set of clothes and they were very happy about the clothing donations! The kids also need notebooks, pencils and English books – which will be our next goal…

After the visit to the Mae La camp we drove further to our Mae Tawaw clinic project. Dr. Pokla was happy to see us! We carried some clothes and the needed medication boxes to the boat. The Dr. updated us on the patients and told us that they have a project to build a better toilet and a washing facility.

I will update our next run. If you can donate something or help us please have a look at our project website: www.burmaborderaid.org
